David Lewis

David Lewis (1683?–1760) was a poet and editor, a friend of Alexander Pope, who edited the anthology Miscellaneous Poems by Several Hands (1726). His own Miscellaneous Poems appeared in 1730.

The lines here, addressed to Pope in the years of the Dunciad quarrels, were printed in 1732.
