Tudor & Elizabethan
Thomas Lodge
Thomas Lodge was an English poet, dramatist and prose romancer whose pastoral romance ‘Rosalynde’ (1590) later supplied Shakespeare with the plot of ‘As You Like It.’
His lyric poems, many embedded as songs within his prose fictions, are prized for their musicality and pastoral grace.
