Lutfî

d. 1550

Lutfi, an Albanian by birth, was Grand Vezir and brother-in-law of Sultan Suleyman I, and was disgraced and banished to Demotika after a quarrel with his wife.

The poems here are taken from E. J. W. Gibb's Ottoman Poems (1882), the first English verse translations of Ottoman poetry; dates and biographical details follow Gibb's Biographical Notices.
