William M. MacKeracher
William Mackay MacKeracher (1871–1913) was a Canadian poet. His verse was published in Montreal and Toronto between 1890 and 1909, and the library catalogue gives his dates as 1871–1913. The prefatory letter to Vacation Verse shows him writing as a student, composing during the intervals of study for a college examination.
His books are Verses of Feeling and Fancy (Montreal: W. Drysdale & Co., 1890), Vacation Verse (Montreal: “Witness” Printing House, 1891), Canada, My Land, and Other Compositions in Verse (Toronto: William Briggs, 1908) and Sonnets and Other Verse (Toronto: William Briggs, 1909). They range from patriotic Canadian pieces and sonnets on Milton, Burns, Wolfe and Montcalm to seasonal poems, Scottish and Irish dialect pieces, and light verse.
