Máel Ísu Ua Brolcháin

d. 1086

Máel Ísu Ua Brolcháin (Maelisu ua Brolchain) was an Irish monk and religious poet of the eleventh century, who died in 1086. His name means "servant (or tonsured one) of Jesus".

Two of his hymns, to the Archangel Michael and to the Holy Spirit, are given here in the English verse of Alfred Perceval Graves in A Celtic Psaltery (1917). Graves's headnote gives 1051 as the year of his death.
