Der Markgraf von Hohenburg

fl. c. 1200

The Markgraf von Hohenburg, a Bavarian margrave who flourished around 1200 and is usually identified with Diepold von Hohenburg, is known for a single dawn-song.

One of his songs appears here in Frank C. Nicholson’s translation, Old German Love Songs (1907), made from the minnesingers of the twelfth to fourteenth centuries.
