Harry McCarthy

Harry McCarthy (also spelled Macarthy, 1834–1874) was an actor, comedian and songwriter who toured the Confederate States in "Personation Concerts" during the Civil War, billing himself as the Arkansas Comedian.

He wrote and sang "The Bonnie Blue Flag" (1861), one of the best-known songs of the Confederacy, together with other war songs reprinted here from W. L. Fagan's Southern War Songs (1890).
