James Nack

James Nack (1809–1879) was a New York poet who lost his hearing in childhood after a fall, and whose poems were published as The Legend of the Rocks and Other Poems.

Griswold included 3 of his poems in The Poets and Poetry of America (16th edition, Philadelphia: Parry & McMillan, 1855), the anthology from which the poems here are taken.
