Victorian
Francis Turner Palgrave
Francis Turner Palgrave (1824–1897) was a British critic, anthologist and poet, best known as the compiler of The Golden Treasury (1861).
The poems here are taken from Alfred H. Miles (ed.), The Poets and the Poetry of the Century (London: Hutchinson, 1891–1897), vols. 5, 10, from the Internet Archive scans of that edition. Spelling is that of the anthology; Miles's biographical essay and extracts from longer poems are omitted, and only poems that could be read cleanly from the scan are included.
