Reinmar von Brennenberg

Reinmar von Brennenberg, a Bavarian knight of the Regensburg region, was killed in 1276 and left songs that include a lament for the poets who had died before him.

Two of his songs appear here in Frank C. Nicholson’s translation, Old German Love Songs (1907), made from the minnesingers of the twelfth to fourteenth centuries.
