John Ruskin

1819–1900

John Ruskin (1819–1900) was an English writer, art critic and social thinker who also wrote verse, much of it in his youth.

The poems here are taken from Alfred H. Miles (ed.), The Poets and the Poetry of the Century (London: Hutchinson, 1891–1897), vol. 4, from the Internet Archive scans of that edition. Spelling is that of the anthology; Miles's biographical essay and extracts from longer poems are omitted, and only poems that could be read cleanly from the scan are included.

  2. Mont Blanc
  3. Awake! awake! the stars are pale, the east is
  4. Trust Thou Thy Love
