Salamah ibn Jandal

6th century

Salamah ibn Jandal was of the Sa'd ibn Zaid-Manat branch of Tamim. Ibn Qutaibah calls him one who lived far back in the Ignorance and makes him a contemporary of 'Amr ibn Kulthum.

Lyall notes that, if a poem ascribed to him in the Asma'iyat is genuine, he outlived an-Nu'man Abu Qabus, who died between A.D. 602 and 607.
