Owen Seaman

Sir Owen Seaman (1861–1936) was an English parodist and light-verse writer who edited the humorous magazine Punch from 1906 to 1932. He was created a baronet in 1933.

His verse, as in To an Old Fogey and the war poem Thomas of the Light Heart, mixes satire with patriotic sentiment. The poems here come from Untermeyer's Modern British Poetry (1920).
