Shabib ibn al-Barsa

Shabib ibn al-Barsa, a man of Murrah, was born in Islam. Lyall records that his father Yazid ibn Jamrah was chief of the branch of Murrah descended from Ghaidh, and that his mother was called al-Barsa.

Lyall dismisses as apocryphal a story in the Hamasah that the Prophet had sought his mother in marriage.
