Sidqî

d. 1703

Sidqi, Gibb says, was a daughter of Qamer Muhammed Efendi, a member of the 'ulema, and besides her Divan wrote two mystic poems; several poets have written under the name of Sidqi.

The poems here are taken from E. J. W. Gibb's Ottoman Poems (1882), the first English verse translations of Ottoman poetry; dates and biographical details follow Gibb's Biographical Notices.
