August Gottlieb Spangenberg

August Gottlieb Spangenberg (1704–1792) was a leader and bishop of the Moravian Church and the author of several hymns in the Herrnhuth Collection.

The single piece here is John Wesley’s English translation “God’s Husbandry”, printed in 1742; Osborn’s footnote names Spangenberg (“Bishop A. G. Spangenberg”) as the author of the German hymn with which it should be compared.
