Suwaid ibn Abi Kahil

7th century

Suwaid ibn Abi Kahil, of Yashkur, a branch of Bakr ibn Wa'il, was a mukhadrim who lived far into the Islamic age. Lyall cites the Aghani for his imprisonment for satire under the governor of al-Kufah, who took office in A.H. 65.

He is said to have celebrated an exploit at the battle of Dhu Qar, fought probably in A.D. 610 or 611.
