Frederick Tennyson

1807–1898

Frederick Tennyson (1807–1898) was an English poet, the elder brother of Alfred, Lord Tennyson. His best-known volume is Days and Hours (1854), and he spent much of his life abroad.

The poems here are taken from Alfred H. Miles (ed.), The Poets and the Poetry of the Century (London: Hutchinson, 1891–1897), vol. 4, from the Internet Archive scans of that edition. Spelling is that of the anthology; Miles's biographical essay and extracts from longer poems are omitted, and only poems that could be read cleanly from the scan are included.
