Charlotte Elizabeth Tonna

Charlotte Elizabeth Tonna (1790–1846), who wrote under the name "Charlotte Elizabeth", was an English evangelical author born in Norwich. She lived for some years in Ireland, edited the Christian Lady's Magazine and later the Protestant Magazine, and wrote many tracts, novels and social studies.

"The Maiden City", her ballad in praise of the defence of Londonderry in 1689, was widely sung in Ulster and was included in R. Brimley Johnson's 1894 anthology.
