Richard Chenevix Trench

1807–1886

Richard Chenevix Trench (1807–1886) was an Anglican churchman who became Archbishop of Dublin, and also a poet and philologist.

The poems here are taken from Alfred H. Miles (ed.), The Poets and the Poetry of the Century (London: Hutchinson, 1891–1897), vols. 4, 10, from the Internet Archive scans of that edition. Spelling is that of the anthology; Miles's biographical essay and extracts from longer poems are omitted, and only poems that could be read cleanly from the scan are included.
