Der Truchsess von Sankt Gallen

fl. c. 1209–1228

Der Truchsess von Sankt Gallen is identified with Ulrich von Singenberg, steward to the abbot of St Gallen, a minnesinger of Walther von der Vogelweide’s generation.

One of his songs appears here in Frank C. Nicholson’s translation, Old German Love Songs (1907), made from the minnesingers of the twelfth to fourteenth centuries.
