William Warner

c. 1558–1609

William Warner (c. 1558–1609) was an Elizabethan attorney and poet, best known for Albion's England, a fourteener history of Britain from Noah and Brutus down to the Tudors that was much read in its day.

Francis Meres, writing in 1598, ranked Warner beside Spenser among the English poets. The archive carries the 1597 edition of the poem, twelve books in all; the later additions of 1602–1612 are not included.
