Theodore Watts-Dunton

1832–1914

Theodore Watts-Dunton (1832–1914), printed in the anthology as Theodore Watts, was an English poetry critic and poet, the friend and housemate of Algernon Charles Swinburne.

The poems here are taken from Alfred H. Miles (ed.), The Poets and the Poetry of the Century (London: Hutchinson, 1891–1897), vol. 6, from the Internet Archive scans of that edition. Spelling is that of the anthology; Miles's biographical essay and extracts from longer poems are omitted, and only poems that could be read cleanly from the scan are included.

  2. Natura Benigna
  3. A Starry Night at Sea
  4. The First Kiss
