Paul Whitehead

Paul Whitehead (1710–1774) was an English satirical poet, author of the verse satires Manners (1739) and Honour (1747), and a steward of Sir Francis Dashwood's Medmenham brotherhood.

His Hunting Song was sung in the ballad-opera Apollo and Daphne (1734, or later) and is the poem given here, from the Oxford Book of Eighteenth Century Verse (1926).
