William O’Leanain
William O’Leanain is dated by Sigerson, in Bards of the Gael and Gall (1907), to 1750. His song “Shiela Gal ni Connolan” is an aisling set to an old air, in which a radiant woman of the fairy world stands for Ireland.
It is given here in Sigerson’s English version.
