Edward Young

Edward Young (1683–1765) was born in Hampshire and educated at Oxford, where he became a fellow of All Souls. He made his name with a poem on the Last Judgment, a series of satires called The Love of Fame, and some tragedies, and took holy orders in middle age, becoming rector of Welwyn in Hertfordshire in 1730.
