Zeyneb

d. c. 1481

Zeyneb, whose father was a judge, was a woman poet who made a Divan of Turkish and Persian poems and dedicated it to Sultan Mehmed II; Gibb notes that she seems never to have married.

The poems here are taken from E. J. W. Gibb's Ottoman Poems (1882), the first English verse translations of Ottoman poetry; dates and biographical details follow Gibb's Biographical Notices.
