A Midsummer Night's Dream
Hermia flees Athens with Lysander rather than wed the man her father has chosen, and Helena, who loves the spurned Demetrius, follows them into a wood ruled by the quarrelling fairy king and queen. There Oberon's errand-boy Puck mistakes his victims, sending the lovers into a night of misplaced desire while Titania wakes to adore Bottom the weaver, now wearing an ass's head. By morning the couples are rightly matched, and the weddings at Theseus's court are crowned by the workmen's clumsy play of Pyramus and Thisbe.
