Agamemnon
Translated by Frank Justus Miller (1907)
The ghost of Thyestes rises to urge on the doom of the house of Atreus. In Argos, Clytemnestra and Aegisthus, her lover and Thyestes' son, plot to kill her husband on his return from Troy. Agamemnon arrives in triumph with the captive prophetess Cassandra, who foresees his death and her own; he is cut down in the palace, and Electra sends the boy Orestes away to safety before the queen turns on her.
