Le Bone Florence of Rome

by Anonymous (Middle English)

A tail-rhyme romance of about 2,190 lines in twelve-line stanzas: Florence, daughter of the emperor Otes of Rome, is sought in marriage by the aged emperor Garcy, and after her father's death she marries the knight Emere. In his absence she is slandered, driven out and sold at sea, and at last becomes a nun at Beverfayre, where she heals her husband and her enemies.
