Much Ado About Nothing
In Messina, Claudio, fresh from the wars, woos Hero with the help of his prince, Don Pedro, while Hero's cousin Beatrice and the soldier Benedick trade barbed wit and swear they will never love. Friends contrive to make each believe the other is secretly in love, even as Don John, the prince's embittered bastard brother, plots to shame Hero on her wedding day. The slander is exposed by the bumbling constable Dogberry and his watch, Hero is restored, and the sparring pair are brought to marriage.
