Sir Tristrem
A verse rendering
Translated by Jessie L. Weston (1914)
Tristrem, son of Roland Riis and of Blancheflower, King Mark's sister, is brought up by the loyal Rohant and educated in the courtly arts before he comes to his uncle Mark in Cornwall. He kills the Irish champion Moraunt, is healed by Ysonde, wins her as Mark's bride, and shares with her a love that survives suspicion, banishment and exile.
