Quatrain LIX

by Abu al-Ala al-Ma'arri 973–1057

Translated by Henry Baerlein (1909) · From The Diwan of Abu'l-Ala (1909)

Religion

That may be writing in the purple dome
Romantic lines of black, and are at home
Where lie the little garden hostelries.
