Quatrain LXX

by Abu al-Ala al-Ma'arri 973–1057

Translated by Henry Baerlein (1909) · From The Diwan of Abu'l-Ala (1909)

Religion

In love or courage or in tenderness,
Can rise from our infirmities alone.
