Quatrain CIX

by Abu al-Ala al-Ma'arri 973–1057

Translated by Henry Baerlein (1909) · From The Diwan of Abu'l-Ala (1909)

Religion

Their brother and his dwelling and his fame,
When I shall soil no more with any blame
Or any praise the silence I possess.
