Song
Translated by John Bowring (1830) · From Poetry of the Magyars (1830)

O the ecstatic bliss of song!
It bears my heart in streams along;
And my lips cry—Again, again!
But of all strains the sweetest strain
Is that which fills the soul and sense
With overpowering eloquence—
Without its soul all song is vain.
