Love

Book V, 109

by Antipater of Thessalonica fl. c. 10 BC – AD 20

Translated by W. R. Paton (1916–18) · From The Greek Anthology (Loeb, vol. I, 1916)

Love

You can have the Attic Europa for a drachma with none to fear and no opposition on her part, and she has perfectly clean sheets and a fire in winter. T was quite superfluous for you, dear Zeus, to turn into a bull.

This translation is printed as prose in its source edition.
