Social Commentaries
Of the externall sences
From Two Bookes of Epigrammes, and Epitaphs (1639), Book II
Social Commentaries
Who shuts not up his sences with a guard,
Lyes open to the fate of Ishbosheth,
Who having left his pallace gates unbarr'd,
Sly treason entred, and lets out his breath:
So shut these portals then, that Sathans skill
Picke not the Locke, nor sins intrusion kill.
