The blood of our Lord

by Thomas Bancroft fl. 1633–1658

From Two Bookes of Epigrammes, and Epitaphs (1639), Book II

Social Commentaries

Our feaverous sinnes, though hot as Hell they rage
Within our flesh. In sultry Aegypt so
Dire plagues decrease, when Nile doth over-flow.
