by Thomas Bancroft fl. 1633–1658

From Two Bookes of Epigrammes, and Epitaphs (1639), Book II

Social Commentaries

When Moses in his bosome thrust his hand,
It came forth leprous; but when thou into
Thine in-side divest, thou wilt understand
That much unsoundnesse in each part doth grow,
Till in the Iordan of Christs blood it be
Washt soundly off, like Naamans Leprosie.
