A Samian gave me birth, the sacred bard
Whose hospitable feast great Homer shar’d ;
For beauteous Iole my sorrows flow,
And royal Eurytus oppress’d with woe:
But mightier names my lasting fame shall crown,
And Homer give Creophilus renown.
