Epigram 25: Small is my size, and I must grace
Translated by H. W. Tytler (1793; Bohn 1856) · From Works of Callimachus (Tytler, 1793)
Religion
Small is my size, and I must grace
Kétion’s porch, a little place ;
A hero’s likeness I appear,
And round my sword a serpent bear.
But since EHétion views with hate
The prancing steed that caus’d my fate,
Resolv’d that we no more should meet,
He plac’d me here upon my feet.
