Love

Borrowed out of a Greek Epigram

by Francis Davison c. 1575–c. 1619

From A Poetical Rhapsody (1602), ed. A. H. Bullen (1890–91)

Love

He's rich enough whose eyes behold thee;
Who hears thee sing, a monarch is:
A demi-god who doth thee kiss;
And love himself whose arms enfold thee.
