The Mind
A feather from the whippoorwill
From Further Poems of Emily Dickinson (1929)
The Mind
A feather from the whippoorwill
That everlasting sings,
Whose galleries are sunrise,
Whose stanzas are the spring,
Whose emerald nest the ages spin
With mellow murmuring thread,
Whose beryl egg what schoolboys hunt
In "recess" overhead!
