The Mind

Conjecturing a climate

by Emily Dickinson 1830–1886

From Further Poems of Emily Dickinson (1929)

The Mind

Conjecturing a climate
Of unsuspended suns
Gives poignancy to Winter;
The freezing fancy turns
To a fictitious country
To palliate a cold
Not obviated of degree
Nor eased of latitude.
