Nature

Sunset at night is natural,

by Emily Dickinson 1830–1886

From Further Poems of Emily Dickinson (1929)

Nature

Sunset at night is natural,
But sunset in the dawn
Reverses Nature, Master,
So midnight due at noon.

Eclipses be predicted
And Science bows them in,
But so one face us suddenly—
Jehovah's watch is wrong.
