The Mind

Speech is a symptom of affection

by Emily Dickinson 1830–1886

From The Single Hound (1914)

The Mind

And Silence one,
The perfectest communication
Is heard of none—
Exists and its endorsement
Is had within—
Behold! said the Apostle,
Yet had not seen.
