Death & Dying

Book VII, 112

by Diogenes Laertius 3rd century AD (Paton’s date)

Translated by W. R. Paton (1916–18) · From The Greek Anthology (Loeb, vol. II, 1917)

Death & Dying

No by— neither shall we neglect to tell how Lyco died of the gout. The thing that surprises me most is that he who formerly walked with other people’s feet managed in one night to run all the way to Hades.

This translation is printed as prose in its source edition.
