Living

Night and Day

by Mary Mapes Dodge 1831–1905

From Rhymes and Jingles (1875)

Living

When I run about all day,
When I kneel at night to pray,
God sees.

When I'm dreaming in the dark,
When I lie awake and hark,
God sees.

Need I ever know a fear?
Night and day my Father's near:--
God sees.
