Living

As I Was Going

by Mary Mapes Dodge 1831–1905

From Rhymes and Jingles (1875)

Living

As I was a-going to market,
I met a man with a goose.
Says he: "Big boots with a boy!
I guess you came from Toulouse."
Says I: "Little goose with a man!
How did you leave your mother?
I guess you just came from home,
For I see you've brought your brother."
